Brenda S Downey

Brenda S. Downey, 83, of Cold Spring, KY, and beloved wife of James J. Downey, passed away peacefully, spending her last moments surrounded by her loving family. Brenda was born in Knoxville, TN to her parents Thomas and Nellie Mims, who preceded her in death, along with her siblings Vickie and Larry, and survived by her sister Patsy. Brenda is also survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, James, and their two daughters Sheila Maraan (Michael) and Susan Cole (Scott); their grandchildren Sarah Dinger (Dustin), nee Maraan, Daniel Cole (Samantha), Michelle Maraan, and Kelly Schaeper (Kent), nee Cole; and great-grandchildren Zoey Dinger, Benjamin Schaeper, and Josephine Cole.

Brenda loved animals of all shapes and sizes and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her friends. But nothing was more dear to her than being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:30 PM Friday, June 20, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 4011 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring.  Visitation will be Friday from 10:30-12:30 pm.  Entombment at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.  Floral Hills is honored to serve the Downey family.
