Carl Lee Holloway, 85, of Butler, born January 15, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. He lived a storied life that encompassed dedication, family, and service to his country.
Carl honorably served his nation in the U.S. Navy for ten years. His commitment to his duties reflected his character and instilled values of self-discipline and resilience in those around him.
He was a proud father to his children, Gary Holloway, Christopher Holloway (Lisa), Elizabeth Brownfield (Randy), Mary (also known as Cathy) Croegaert (Russell), Angelique McGee (Chris), and Eric A. Kopser. Carl's legacy continues through his 19 grandchildren and 29 (with 2 more on the way) great-grandchildren, whom he cherished dearly.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Mary Russwurm Holloway, his parents, Robert Crusoe and Vernabell Cottenham Holloway, as well as his son, Carl Lee Holloway, Jr., and daughters Stephanie Holloway and Dominique Mabrey.
Visitation will take place at Floral Hills Funeral Home - Chapel A in Taylor Mill, Kentucky, on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The funeral service will be held at the same location on February 17, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites.
Carl’s life touched many, and he will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
