Cheryl Elaine Welch

Cheryl Elaine Welch, 79, of Union, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at home. She was born April 23, 1946, in Covington, the daughter of the late Jacob S. Hughes and Delia Aleta Crow Hughes. She was a proud Special Needs Coordinator with Boone County Board of Education for many years. She was married to Franklin E. Welch, who preceded her in death in 2020. Surviving are her daughters, Catherine Marie Fears (Vincent); Sandra Lynne Caldwell (Steve); brother David “Tim” Hughes (the late Christine); Donnie Hughes; Rebecca “Becky” Cox (Gary); and two grandsons, Duncan Edward Allen and Trenton Dale Calwell. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Trace Matthew Caldwell. There will be a Celebration of life April 11th, 2026,  at Orleans South Clubhouse from 1-4 PM.
