Delores Back

Delores Back, 86, of Covington, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the home of her daughter, Debbie Rowland. She was born August 27, 1938, in Cumberland, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Arthur Dixon and Ethel Foutch Dixon. She was married to Irvin Eugene Back for 62 years, who preceded her in death April 11, 2023. She is preceded in death by her beloved grandson Eric Eugene Walden and siblings, Art (Arthur) Dixon, Duck (Donald) Dixon, and Mark (Marcus) Dixon. A loving Matriarch and domestic goddess, she poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming home, one where everyone felt loved and safe. Her days were spent caring for others, not out of obligation, but out of joy— especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Southside Baptist church. She is survived by her children, one son, Gregory Back of Independence, KY; three daughters, Susan Stout (Robert) of Dry Ridge, KY, Betty Back of Florence, KY and Deborah Rowland (John) of Independence, KY; grandchildren Amanda Stout, Daniel Back, Rebecca Back, Jeffrey Back, Isaiah Stout, Tiffany Walden, Samuel Back, Stephanie Walden, Andrea Stout, Caylin Back, Raymond Rowland, & Matthew Back, 19 great grandchildren; and brothers and sister, Betty Hejna; Barbara Foote; Jerry and John Dixon, and nieces and nephews. She was the heart of our family—steady, strong, and deeply compassionate. She leaves behind a legacy of love — in the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who adored her, and in the countless lives she touched. We find peace in knowing she now rests in eternal comfort, reunited with those who went before her. A visitation will be held Friday July 18, 2025, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Chapel A, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
