Delores Elizabeth Bowdler

Delores Elizabeth Bowdler, 81, of California, Kentucky, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed peacefully on December 24, 2024, surrounded by her family at Summitt of Edgewood. She was born on April 30, 1943, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to Robert J. Hurles and Genevieve McCartney Hurles.

Delores was a dedicated professional, having spent her career as a secretary at R.A. Jones, where she was well-respected by her colleagues. In her retirement, she embraced her passions with enthusiasm, becoming an active member of the Red Hat Society. Delores found joy in hobbies such as crocheting and line dancing. She also enjoyed spirited evenings playing Bingo, which brought her much happiness.

Above all, Delores cherished the time spent with her family. She was a proud mother to her children:  Kathy Nethery (Sean), Kevin Bowdler (Diane); Kelly Bowdler, and David Bowdler (Christa). Her legacy continues with her grandchildren Rachel Penick, Garrett Nethery, Alison Patterson, Samuel Bowdler, Parker Bowdler, Paige Bowdler, Peyton Bowdler and Paisley Bowdler, and her great-grandchildren, Charlie and Camden Patterson.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband Garrett Bowdler, who passed away in 1995, as well as her brothers David and Jonathan Hurles. She is also remembered fondly by her surviving siblings, Steve Hurles, Rebecca Staud, and Penny King.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 11-12 PM, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Chapel A, where graveside services will be held at 12 PM at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Delores's warmth, kindness, and love for her family will be deeply missed, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
