Edward Bruce, 97, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026. He was born September 28, 1928, in Goins, Kentucky.

Edward was preceded in death by his mother, Sally Ann Bruce Paul; father, Benjamin Elbert Bruce; brother, Noble Bruce; brother, Gorman Bruce; sister, China Bruce Taylor; brother, Denver Paul; brother, Shirrell Paul; wife, Retha Bruce; wife, Verna Lee Bruce; and daughter, Judy Diane Bruce Parrett.

He leaves behind his son, Gary Bruce (Vicki Bruce); daughter, Alisa Bruce Smith (Lenard Smith); four grandchildren: Erin Bruce, John Parrett, Karrie Parrett, and Adam Riddle; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his special caregivers, Marie and Calvin Farris, and his church family at Corbin Full Gospel Church of God, where he was a long-time member.

He was a United States Army veteran, a Mason, and a Shriner. His work career was spent as a conductor on the railroad.

Edward was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.

Funeral arrangements will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Jerome Cox officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 P.M. until the funeral hour.

Funeral services will also be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Taylor Mill, Kentucky, with Jerome Cox officiating. Visitation will be from 12-1 PM. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
