It is with heavy hearts that we of the Smoot family share that our beloved patriarch Edward Thomas Smoot, 77, peacefully passed away of natural causes in the company of his family at his Walton, Ky. home on January 4, 2025.
Edward was born November 10, 1947, and lived the entirety of his life in Northern Kentucky as the only child of Thomas and Marian Smoot. Coming from a family with a long history of public service, Edward devoted his life to servicing the community for over 20 years as a maintenance worker for the state of Kentucky at the Northern Kentucky State Technical School in Covington, as well as a police officer for 5 years for the city of Florence. He also served a collective 22 years as a volunteer firefighter and EMT for the cities of Bromley, Burlington and Independence before retiring at the rank of captain for Independence in 1991. Edward leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Constance Smoot (need Brouillette) and his son Tristan Smoot. Edward will be buried at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens and at his request, no services are planned.
