Elwood James Sterling, 87, of Amelia, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2026, at his home.  He was born November 26, 1938, in Covington, the son of the late Edward and Nellie Sterling.  He was retired from P&G, was a Navy Veteran and of the Catholic faith.  He was also preceded in death in 2013 by his wife, Joan E. Deitz Sterling.  Surviving are his children, Brenda Grubbs; Deborah Sterling; Tim Sterling and Connie Sterling; 6 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Roger Sterling and a daughter, Robin Daniels.  Funeral services will be held 1PM Friday, September 4, 2026, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Chapel A, where visitation will be held from 11-1 PM.  Entombment following at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens where military gravesite honors will be held.  Floral Hills is honored to serve the Sterling family.
