Jerry Russell Cole

Jerry Russell Cole, 74, of Covington, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 24, 2025. He was born in Swanton, Ohio, the son of the late Russell Cole and Irene (nee Smith) Cole. He is survived by his loving wife Emily (nee Gershowitz) Cole, children Russell "Rusty" Cole and Sara Cole, his beloved granddaughters, Alexia Davis and Ava Palmer, sister Gloria McQuade, along with loving nieces, nephews, their children, his ex-spouse, Patricia Cole-Seifried, and his loyal four legged companion, Cade. 

Jerry was an outdoorsman at heart and always found a way to spend time outside - regardless of the season. As an avid and accomplished skier he cherished his time at Perfect North, where he spent a lot of time following retirement. As a member of the National Park Services, Jerry also enjoyed taking his grandchildren camping and exploring national parks, always inviting family and friends to join the adventure.

Jerry and Emily enjoyed nearly 30 years of marriage. They divided their time traveling, golfing, skiing, hiking and spending time with their granddaughters, family and friends. They shared the same hobbies and interests with the exception of college football as Jerry was a proud and avid Ohio State University Buckeye graduate while Emily attended the University of Michigan. During his career, Jerry was the Manufacturing Manager with EMD Chemicals.

Jerry was a genuine person and was willing to lend a hand when needed. He was a friend to many, and aside from his role as husband and father, his role as Papa was one he cherished the most. He will be forever missed by those who knew him.

At Jerry’s request, no services will be held. A celebration of his life will be announced and held at a later date.
