Joan Frances Black Arnsparger was called home to the Lord on Christmas Day. She was born to Robert and Sarah Black of Covington, KY on February 19, 1941. She was married to Ralph Arnsparger on January 4, 1958 and following his service to the military in Germany, they made their home in Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Jr, and daughter Susan.
She is survived by her husband Ralph, daughter Stephanie, grandchildren Marshall, Tiffany, Max, Sister Veronica of the Franciscan Daughters of Mary, Robert, Charlotte, Chai (Sophia), and Sammy. Her many great-grandchildren Lilandra, Thaliden, Remy, Deirdre, Lochryn, Cormyr, Eoife, Thea Loraine, Violette, Samuel, and Jacob are an honor to her memory and deep commitment to family.
Outside of family, Joan’s life was marked by service to the community of Northern Kentucky and the Church. She served as a CASA with the Children’s Law Center in Covington, KY and was a strong supporter of Northern Kentucky Right to Life. She was a member of the All Saints Altar Society, Cathedral Ladies Society, Legion of Mary, Schoenstatt Movement, Third Order Dominicans, and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians.
All who wish to honor Joan’s memory are invited to join her family at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, KY on Saturday, January 3 at 10 AM for a public visitation to be followed by a funeral mass at 11 AM. Burial to follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to: Friends of the Rose Garden Home Mission P.O.
