Joanne D. Laws

Joanne D. Laws, 80, of Alexandria, a devoted mother and loving grandmother, passed away quietly on March 4, 2026, at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Born on May 28, 1945, in Lake Buena Vista, Florida to John Fronk and Eleanor Streine Fronk, Joanne led a life enriched with service and family. She was married to Ronald E. Laws who passed September 1, 2024.

Joanne enjoyed a fulfilling career as Assistant Manager of the Credit Union at the DAV, where she dedicated her time and efforts to support those who served the nation. Her commitment to service reflected her character and compassion, traits she carried into her personal life. She was a faithful member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Alexandria.

A beloved figure to her family, Joanne cherished her grandchildren dearly, forming bonds that brought joy and warmth to her life. She is survived by her daughter, Leah McDonald and her husband Chris; her brother, John Fronk and his wife Julie; and her sisters Gale Simon, Juanita Poinsett, and Jennifer Gerbus and her husband Frank, and grandchildren Jessica Ann McDonald; Kayla Jones (Tyler); and Cameron Glen. Joanne leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will resonate with all who knew her.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eleanor Fronk.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, both held at Floral Hills Funeral Home - Chapel A, located at 5336 Old Taylor Mill Rd, Covington, Kentucky, 41015. Entombment at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Pastor Paul Forrey officiating. Memorial contributions to St. Paul United Church of Christ in Alexandria.
