Joanne Laura Steinkopf Kukuk Holmstrom, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and generosity. Born to the late Louis Earl Steinkopf and Margaret Esther Noodel Steinkopf. Joanne was the beloved sister of three beautiful sisters: Beryl Skamiera, Sylvia (Sis) Plutter Daniels, and Eileen Kapalka. Joanne was formerly married to the late Alton W. Kukuk and later to Fred Holmstrom. She was the proud and loving mother of Dennis Mitchell Kukuk (Linda), Pamela Louise Kukuk Hart (Rob), Robert 'Bob' Allen Kukuk (Rita), Stephen 'Steve' Frederick Holmstrom (Tina), Sarah Beth Holmstrom and Kristen Margaret Holmstrom Franks.
Her love extended to her grandchildren: Amber (David), Benjamin (Maggie), Claire (Ian), Emily (Derrick), Luca, Makenna, Alessia, Lauren and Ethan. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Aubrie, Annalise, Clara, Vivian, Jason, David, Reese and Julia.
Joanne cherished her many nieces and nephews: Judy, Joe, Jane, Jackie, Jim, Jim, Becky, Robin, Kelly, Kim, Kevin, Cheryl, Randy, Jeff and Jodi.
A talented and passionate cook, Joanne turned her love for food into a lifelong career. She owned and operated her own restaurant and ran a successful catering business, creating beautiful wedding cakes and memorable meals for many. She worked as a cake decorator at Servati's Bakery and Bonnie Lynn Bakery in Cincinnati, Ohio, and also ran Joanne's Kitchen in Union, KY, as well as The Donut Shop.
Her talents were further shared with her church community as she lovingly prepared meals for Burlington Baptist Church on Wednesdays in Burlington, KY. Beyond the kitchen, Joanne was a gifted artist who loved painting, especially pumpkins, and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Her warm heart, creativity, and generosity left an unforgettable impact on all who knew her.
Joanne's legacy lives on in the love she poured into her family, the joy she brought through her talents, and the many lives she touched. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
A celebration of Joanne's life will be held 1:00 PM Monday, February 10,2025. Visitation will be Monday from 11-1 PM. In Lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor her memory by making a donation to New Perceptions, a local nonprofit that supports children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabiliities.
