Jon Alan Gosney

Jon Alan Gosney, 84, of Independence, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood. He was born June 4, 1941, in Indianapolis, the son of the late Joseph Gosney and Erma Schweitzer Gosney. He was the Owner of Gosney Electric for 40+ years, he retired at the young age of 83. Never met a stranger, he served Christ as a volunteer at St. Paul’s Church in Newport Ky, and he was willing to help anyone in need. Jon was a Kentucky Colonel, a Mason and a Shriner. He was married for 27 years to Anna Lee Burns Gosney, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Todd, Troy, Tony and Tricia Gosney, Ted, Rick and Jennifer (deceased) Brookbank, Cathy Leopold, Joanna Maehren, his grandchildren Alex, Adam, Anna, Annie, Analise, Ashley, Ben, Chloe, Connor, Coy, Craig, Crystal, Erica, Lauren, Jordan, Joshua, Michelle, Sara, Sebastian (deceased) and Shannon, 10 great grandchildren and his sister, Nancy McGinley. His brother Bruce and sister Joann preceded his death. Per his wishes, there will be no services. Entombment at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Tunnels to Towers or St. Paul Episcopal Church, Newport Ky. Floral Hills is honored to serve the Gosney family.
