Kathleen Carnes

Kathleen Carnes, 72, passed away on September 18, 2026. She was born on December 25, 1953, in Fort Hamilton, Ohio, to James and Lillie Pennington.

Kathy was married to her loving husband, Bobby Carnes, for 54 years. She worked in DNA Diagnostics before retiring. Kathy was a member of Living Waters Church for four years.

Kathy enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved thrifting, working on crossword and jigsaw puzzles, watching Family Feud, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Bobby Carnes; her two sons, Bobby Carnes Jr. and Daniel Carnes; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings James Pennington Jr., Richard Pennington, Judith Kelly, Jean Mirick, Carl Pennington, Linda East, Sandy Pennington, Barbara Sexton, and Timothy Pennington. She will also be missed by her beloved dogs, Roxie (“Roxie Girl”), and Abby.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lillie Pennington, and her siblings Laverne Kerns, Thomas Pennington, Kenneth Pennington, Jerry Pennington, Joanne Pennington; and her precious dog, Sara Lee.

Visitation will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Chapel A, on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
