Kay Scott Malone, 75, of Villa Hills, passed away peacefully Friday, June 19, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Kay was born August 16, 1950, in Covington, the daughter of the late Robert and LaVerne Scott. She was a member of Mary, Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Erlanger.
Kay was born and raised in Northern Kentucky, where she spent her childhood working alongside her family and friends on the Scott family farm. She graduated from Dixie Heights High School, and it was during those years that she met the love of her life, Kim. During their daughters’ high‑school years, Kay became an active and devoted band mom. She took pride in making sure every student stepped onto the field in a uniform that was clean, crisp, and cared for—because to her, those details mattered. Above all, Kay cherished her three grandchildren. She went above and beyond for each of them, traveling near and far to watch their sporting events and celebrate their accomplishments. Her presence in the stands was a constant source of encouragement and love.
In quieter moments, Kay enjoyed sewing, reading, and settling in to watch her favorite shows. These simple joys reflected her gentle spirit and the comfort she brought to those around her. She loved going on trips with her girlfriends, enjoyed lunches with her Dixie Heights Class of 68’ friends, her Crescent Springs Presbyterian group, and the Malone cousins.
She is survived by her loving husband Kim Malone of almost 55 years. Also surviving are her children, Colleen Parsons (Phil); Katie Arnett (John); three granddaughters, Emily and Abigail Parsons, and Allison Arnett; her aunt, Merilyn Reinhardt and a host of family, many nieces and nephews, and loving friends. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Robert Scott; one granddaughter, Kelly Arnett and her stepmother, Elmira Scott. Visitation will be held from 11-1 PM Friday, June 26, 2026, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Chapel A. Funeral services will begin at 1 PM, with burial following at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Floral Hills is honored to serve the Malone family.
