Kenneth E. "Ken" Pennington

Kenneth E. Pennington, age 96, of Kenton Co., passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Saturday, January 11, 2025. 

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Wilma (Browning) Pennington, two stepsons, Gary and Timothy Weinel; his son, Kenneth D. Pennington and sister, Rose Lee. Kenneth is survived by his son, Glenn (Donna Price-Pennington) Pennington; daughter, Lora Pennington; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind 2 first cousins, Georgia and Sadie Tankersley, 101 and 98 years old. Ken was born in a 2-room mountainside cabin near Dryden, VA. 

He worked in the coal mines to put his sister through college at Berea College, Berea, KY. They farmed to survive; he claimed he was born with a hoe in his hands. Ken moved to Covington, KY to help an uncle run a store where he settled, married, raised a family and worked at Cincinnati Postal Annex sorting mail for 40 years. He was a Korean War Veteran and Corporal in the U.S. Army. He loved all his family and worked hard all his life to give them a better life than he had and will be missed greatly.

Ken will be laid to rest with military services on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Rd., Taylor Mill, KY 41015, at 2:00 P.M.
