Sunrise: July 8, 1982 • Sunset: March 18, 2025
On March 18, 2025, Lisa Pleasant took her final flight and claimed her seat beside our Lord. Though her time on earth was shorter than any of us wished, her life was beautifully rich in love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Born and raised in Covington, Kentucky, Lisa was a proud graduate of Holmes High School, Class of 2000, where she stood out as an exceptional academic achiever. The bonds she formed during those years blossomed into lifelong friendships—friends who became family, and memories that became legend.
Lisa was fiercely loyal, incredibly insightful, and resilient to her core. Her love for reading and writing revealed a deep thinker with the wit of a seasoned storyteller. With a sharp mind and a sharp tongue, she had a way of making people laugh—mixing wisdom with just the right hint of spicy sarcasm.
After high school, Lisa followed her dreams to Florida where she earned her bachelor’s degree and started her family. She later
moved to Rhode Island where she earned her master’s degree. But above all of her academic and professional accomplishments, the title she cherished most was that of “Mom.” Her son, Landon Gencarella, was her heart, her purpose, and her greatest joy.
Lisa’s life left a lasting imprint on everyone she met. Her energy was magnetic, her laughter contagious, and her love boundless.
She is preceded in death by her beloved mother Denise Pleasant, stepfather Charles Carroll, and father Billy Ray Pleasant. She is survived by her siblings: Billie Jean Davis Pleasant, Brent Pleasant, Billy Pleasant Jr., Charlie Carroll Jr., Samantha Carroll, and John Carroll. She also leaves behind her life partner, Bob Gencarella, and the brightest light in her world—her son, Landon Gencarella.
Lisa is loved beyond measure. Her absence will be deeply felt, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Lisa’s life will be announced at a later date.
