Florence

Martha Jane Webster, a beloved homemaker and cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospice. She was born on October 15, 1955, and throughout her life, she embodied a vibrant spirit that was as warm as it was spirited—earning her the affectionate nickname "Bannie," inspired by her unstoppable energy akin to that of a rooster.

Her personality was multifaceted; she could be a spitfire, known for her fierce independence and zest for life, while simultaneously possessing a kindness that endeared her to those fortunate enough to know her. Martha’s love for nature and traveling filled her life with beautiful experiences and cherished memories. Whether exploring new places or enjoying the serene moments in nature, she embraced every opportunity with an open heart.

Martha leaves behind her loving children, Thomas Webster (Matthew) and Brandi Rothweiler (Daniel), who carry forward her legacy of love and compassion. She was a proud grandmother to her five grandchildren—Ashaley Webster, Joy Webster, Gwendolyn Rothweiler, Gabrielle Rothweiler, and Giuliana Rothweiler—who brought immense joy to her life.

Martha is also survived by her siblings, Alan Godsey (Ione) and Pam Metzo, who will forever remember her spirit and love. She held a special place in the hearts of her nieces, Kimber Carnes (Randy), Amanda Godsey, and Jessica Godsey (Michael Higgins), her nephews; Paul Metzo (Amber), Alan Godsey (Kori), Cody Godsey, and Marin Godsey. Additionally, her great aunt, Ruth Worley, will miss their shared moments and fond memories.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Estel and Helen Godsey, her husband, Franklin Webster, her son, Brian Webster, and her brother, Estel Gary Godsey. Each of these individuals contributed to the foundation of love upon which Martha built her life.

As we remember Martha Jane Webster, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love, laughter, and a boundless spirit that touched all who knew her. Her legacy will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
