Mary Lou Kordenbrock, age 95, of Taylor Mill, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on April 29, 2026, and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was born on June 22, 1930, to the late Bert Franklin and Alda Greiner Safreed. Mary Lou was the widow of Afton H. Kordenbrock, who preceded her in death on December 30, 2005.
Mary Lou lived a life of unwavering faith, selfless service, and overflowing love for her family and friends. A devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Latonia, KY, for seventy-five years, she treasured her church family and faithfully served in many roles, including Sunday School treasurer, teacher, and Vacation Bible School organizer and instructor.
Her life of service extended to the city she dearly loved. In the 1970s, when Taylor Mill found itself without a city clerk, Mary Lou was asked to temporarily fill the position. Serving as the face of the office and greeting everyone with courtesy and professionalism, she coordinated residents concerns, meticulously managed payroll, and assisted the city's elected officials in any way possible. What began as a temporary role ultimately became nearly 20 years of dedicated service in the city's administrative office.
Mary Lou loved to host and entertain. Her kitchen was always open, and anyone who entered her home was immediately greeted by the aroma of meals being lovingly prepared and an invitation to join the family at the table. Her hosting skills were unparalleled, and annual Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings were events that created cherished memories for her many family members and friends. Hers was a home filled with love, laughter, hospitality, and warmth. Mary Lou will be remembered for her keen intelligence, quick wit, and unconditional love for her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Pitt-Hopkins Research Foundation in honor of her great-grandson, Louis Sims Hart (https://pitthopkins.org)
