Melissa Jane Turner

Melissa Jane Turner, 64, of Independence, passed peacefully at home with her family by her bedside Thursday, April 3, 2025. Born April 12, 1960, in Covington, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Nelson E. Boyd, Sr. and Emma Margaret Buser Boyd. She is survived by her husband, Darrell Turner; her daughters, Tonya Scott (Bo) and Tiffany Turner (Tim Perkins); two brothers, Archie and Nelson E. Boyd Jr; sister Mary Styles and her grandchildren who adored her included Logan Christopher Scott, Landen Cole Scott, Layla Camile Scott, Lana Carlyn Scott, and Emma Jane Perkins. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her sisters, Julia Boyd and Mary Styles. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Floral Hills Funeral Home, where visitation will be held from 11-1 PM. Burial will follow at Independence Cemetery. Floral Hills is honored to serve the Turner family.
