Paula Jean Work, 77, of Northern Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026 in the comfort of her own home.
Born in Covington, Kentucky, on January 23, 1949, Paula was the beloved daughter of the late William H. Wesselman and Wanda J. Kingery. She devoted many years of her life working as a kitchen aide in the restaurant industry before enjoying her retirement.
Paula found happiness in the simple things in life. She loved playing bingo, creating ceramics, and spending time at the Boone County Senior Center, where she was a member for 16 years. She enjoyed photographing birds, landscapes and skies as well as her family and loved ones, and sending out greeting cards with lots of stickers and comments that family and friends enjoyed receiving. She also enjoyed watching The Andy Griffith Show, which always brought her comfort and a smile.
In addition to her parents, Paula was preceded in death by her loving husband, Glenn T. Work, whom she shared 45 wonderful years of marriage with since May 30, 1981. She also is preceded in death by her daughter, Ruth Childress; and her sisters, Delores Hartfiel (Tandy) and Sue Oaker.
She is lovingly survived by her four children, Kathy Wolfe (Steve), Glenn Thomas Work (Natalie), and Valerie Beal (Dwight); her siblings, Robert Wesselman (Jan), George Wesselman (Madeline), Martha Hassett (Walt), Michael Wesselman, Ronald Walters (Mary), and Jeanie Blanton. She also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Paula will be remembered for her kind heart, her love of family, and the joy she found in everyday moments. Her warmth and gentle spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the Panorama Plus Apartments community room, starting at 1:00 p.m. 8510 Old Toll Road, Florence, KY 41042
