COVINGTON - Raymond Walter Melhorn, 93, died Wednesday, March 3, at his home He was a head bartender at Vernon Manor Hotel in Cincinnati, he also bartended at Beverly Hills Country Club in Southgate and the Cricket and Colony restaurants in Cincinnati; a WWII Army Air Force veteran; member of Hotel and Restaurant Employees Union Local No. 12 in Cincinnati; American Legion Post in Wautburg, Tenn., and Bethany Lutheran Church in Erlanger where he also served as financial secretary and groundskeeper.
His wife, Gwendlyn Clem Melhorn, died in 1994.
Survivors include his sons; Tim Melhorn of Crestview Hills, Greg Melhorn of Fairfield, Ohio and Tom Melhorn of Walton; daughters, Sylvia Dornbusch of Latonia and Tammy Rhodes and Pam Webster, both of Covington; brother, Rudolph Melhorn of Holland, Mich.; sisters, Rena Honeycutt of Fort Oglethorp, Ga., and Mildred Heath of Lawrenceville, Ga.; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 10 a.m.-noon Friday, March 5, with services following at Allison & Rose Funeral Home in Taylor Mill. Burial with military honors will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill.
