Roger Lorne Gerdes

Roger Lorne Gerdes, 75, of Petersburg, passed on Friday, January 12, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Florence.  He was born June 15, 1948, in Covington, the son of the late Frank Gerdes and Marjorie Gerdes. He was a retired Carpenter and a proud Marine Veteran. Roger is survived by his wife, Rosemary Cook Gerdes, whom he married in 1973. Also surviving are one son,  Josh Gerdes (Tammy), one daughter, Nickie Holt (Brian); one brother, Rick Webster, grandchildren Lacey, Bailey, Cody, Kapalia, and one great-grandchild Dakota. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Mike Gerdes, and one sister, Diane Sproles.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, where visitation will be held Saturday from 9-11 AM.  Burial with military honors will take place at a later date at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
