Sharlene Carpenter

Sharlene Carpenter, 82, of Burlington, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital, Florence.  She was born September 23, 1943, in Covington, the daughter of the late Estel Wilson and Sally Osborne Wilson.  She was retired from Burlington Elementary Schools as a Cafeteria Worker.  She was a member of Burlington Baptist Church.  She loved spending time with her family, watching Hallmark, gardening and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband, Galen Carpenter, in 2009, whom she married December 16, 1967.  She is survived by her loving children, Pam Jirka (Glenn) and Bill Carpenter (Kim); five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Marshall Wilson.  Funeral services will be held 1PM Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Burlington Baptist Church with Josh Schmidt officiating.  Visitation will be Friday from11-1 PM at the church.  Burial to follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
