Whit Osborne

Stancil Whitfield “Whit” Osborne, 89, of Hebron, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Friday, May 2, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood. He was born March 15, 1936, in Charlotte, N.C. the son of the late James S Osborne and Patricia L Simpson Osborne. He was a retired General Manager for American Airlines. He was married to Barbara Bishop Osborne, who preceded him in death February 21, 2011. He loved going to Florida, the Reds, the Bengals, Horseracing and Golf and spent many hours at his favorite spot, Hebron Grille. He is survived by his fiancé, Sharon Bennett; his children, Pam Davis (Jeff); Tom Osborne (d. Kathy); Beth Kaiser (Thad); his brother, David Osborne (Barb); his sister, Linda Beckman (Jerry); 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Bob Osborne. Whit’s life was a golden one filled with love, books, fun times and lots of laughter. One unforgettable gentleman. We are lucky to have had him in our lives, he will be missed. A memorial service will be held on Monday May 12th at 10am at Hopeful Lutheran Church, Hopeful Church Rd, Florence.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Leukemia Society.
