Obituary

Vernon “Roger” McGuffey, 71, passed away on October 4, 2026. He was born on November 7, 1954, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Vernon C. McGuffey and Frona McGuffey.

Roger was married to his wife, Rhonda, for 26 years. He worked for Levi Strauss for approximately 20 years, where he served as a maintenance supervisor.

Roger enjoyed many things throughout his life, including auctioning, working on classic cars, collecting guns, watching YouTube, and Star Wars. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family. He also loved his cat, Zoey (Little Dog); and his dogs, Vador and Gracie.

Roger is survived by his wife, Rhonda; his five children, Roger McGuffey II (Jenn), Angie Welch (Larry), Amy McGuffey, Ricky Lumpkins (Shannon), and Rachel Leighty (Benard); and his grandchildren, MaKayla, Lucas, Brinley, Brannock, Trevor, Hadley, Colton, Conner, Courtney, Lauren, Hannah, Whitney, and Olivia. He is also survived by his siblings, Sharon Creamer, Belinda Runyon, and Cathy Thompson.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Patricia Cameron, Mary McGuffey, Brenda McGuffey, Lanny Casey, Charlotte Mullikin, J.R. McGuffey, Gayla Casey, and Carolyn Johnson.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Chapel A, on Monday, October 12, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at Floral Hills Funeral, Chapel A, on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
