William "Bill" Edward Drennon

William “Bill” Edward Drennon, age 85, of Independence, KY, passed away on the morning of Sunday, December 29, 2024. 

He was born on February 26, 1939, in Rossville, GA to the late William E. and Mary Irene (Woodfin) Drennon, Sr. Bill served his country in the U.S. Army and went on to own and operate an Ace Hardware Store in Walton, KY for many years. On March 24, 1962, Bill married the love of his life, Donna Sue Kircher in Latonia, KY. Bill was a master craftsman with a love for antiques, model trains, bird watching and building model airplanes. He greatly enjoyed college basketball- especially UK, but most of all, spending time with his family brought him the greatest joy in life. 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Kathryn Mosley. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Donna S. Drennon; daughters: Michele (Tom) Roeding and Melanie Drennon; grandchildren: Alice (Josty) Sieverding, Elizabeth Roeding, Evelyn (Jacob) Mosley and Jonathan Mosley; great-grandchildren: Kayden and Josie Stumph; brother-in-law, Dennis (Jo) Kircher; dear friends: Tom Houston and Bobby Glenn; and adored fur children: cat, Barney and dogs, Owen and Sadie. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill may be made to Ohio Alleycat Resource (OAR) & Spay/Neuter Clinic, 5619 Orlando Pl., Cincinnati, OH 45227. 

Bills family will greet friends and family from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Chapel A, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Rd., Taylor Mill, KY. Bill will be laid to rest immediately to follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
